Every ball that almost left the yard — wall balls and drives that died
within 20 ft of the fence, plotted by spray direction and carry. Yesterday's near misses are
today's due candidates; markers are numbered tightest gap first.
Method: spray angle from Statcast hit coordinates (standard 0.75 image-to-field
correction), carry = Statcast projected distance, fence line interpolated between MLB's five
published dimension points per park — so gaps are approximate near fence corners.
WALL = carry reached the fence line without a homer (plotted on the fence).
CRUSHED ring = exit velo ≥ mph. The ribbon spans the
shortest-to-deepest fence across all cached parks at each angle. Wall heights and the
side-view trajectory arrive in v1.1. Every figure traces to the Savant pull and MLB venue
data in the database.
